Vernon is a city in the south-central region of British Columbia, Canada, named after Forbes George Vernon, a former British Columbia deputy who helped found the famous Daimiel Ranch.

The city of Vernon was founded on December 30, 1892, Vernon had a population of 35,944 inhabitants in 2006, while its metropolitan region, Great Vernon, had a population of 55,418 in 2006.2 Vernon is the largest city in the North Okanagan Regional District.

The city has a regional airport, its length is 3,518 meters, it offers all air services, it was created to facilitate the economic development of this town.
